for educators

At the YAM, educators can engage their students with art, earn OPI credits in professional development workshops, and explore our art education resources.

All YAM educational programming aligns with Montana Art Standards. Our docents and certified educators use inquiry-based approaches to teach art in the galleries and our education art studio.

billings educators

The YAM Art Suitcase program brings art into your 4th or 5th grade classroom. This inquiry-based program has been led by our docent volunteers for almost 50 years.

For 5th grade classes, free busing or free access to virtual tours is available.

Every year, there are two exhibitions of Billings student art in our Young Artists Gallery.

The YAM offers Professional Development workshops for educators for OPI credit. Our adult art education classes are also available for OPI credit.  Upcoming workshops will be listed here and on our calendar.
