summer art academy camp 2023

Young artists learn from professional artists in small groups on the campus of Rocky Mountain College and online.

Ages: 7 – 14
When: Week 1, June 5 – 9, 2023 *CAMP IS FULL
Week 2, June 12 – 16, 2023 *CAMP IS FULL
Cost: Member: $335
Member Sibling: $300
Non-Member: $375

Summer Art Academy is in its 23rd season!

At this camp, young artists study under professional artists in concentrated areas, which they choose. Class sizes are limited. Art supplies are included in the cost of tuition. Students bring their own snacks and lunches. Summer Art Academy is located on the campus of Rocky Mountain College.

 

Classes this year include:

Week 1: Wearable Indigenous Art, Art Journaling, Stop Motion Animation, Digital Photography, Yoga, Kite Making, Drumming, Cookie & Cake Design and Decoration, Collage, Animal Sculpture, Stage Combat (ages 12-14 only), Puppetry, Painting, Ceramics and Mixed Media.

Week 2: Printmaking, Puppetry, Digital Photography, Stop Motion Animation, Yoga, Northern Pains Beading, Art Journaling, Music, Drawing, Yoga, Painting, Improv and Ceramics.

Intertwine art, storytelling, and imagination to create functional works of art that bring art into life. Young artists spend a week at the YAM creating art, exploring the galleries, and making friends.

Morning Session: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Afternoon Session: 1:00 – 3:00 PM

Every Summer Art Studio class includes touring the galleries and creating art that is connected to current exhibitions.
