The Yellowstone Art Museum offers adult tours for a variety of groups including college classes/groups, community clubs, tourism groups, work outings, and more.

Docents are available to lead tours in French, German, Latvian, or Spanish. Reservations are strongly encouraged to ensure bi-lingual docent availability.

 

Virtual Tours 

 

Virtual visits feature inquiry-based tours and artmaking. They are available to classrooms or a mix of school and home-based students.

Virtual Tour with Artmaking Lesson (including art supplies)  – $7

Tour the museum and create art with our certified Museum Art Educator in the education studio. (60 minutes)

Virtual Tour with Artmaking Lesson (using your art supplies)  – $5

Tour the museum and create art with our certified Museum Art Educator in our

education studio. (60 minutes)

Virtual Tour Only   – $3

Learn and explore in the galleries with our knowledgeable docents. This tour is 60 minutes or less, based on the age of the students.

 

Tours at the YAM

The Yellowstone Art Museum is conducting tours at the museum for very small groups. Masks are required. These changes are based on the governor’s guidelines and YAM safety policies.

Tour with Artmaking Lesson – $5

Tour the museum with our docents and create art with our certified Museum Art Educator in our education studio. (90 minutes)

Tour Only – $3

Learn and explore in the galleries with our knowledgeable docents. (60 minutes)

Self-Guided     (General Admission)

For groups who want to discover the Museum at their own pace.

Guided Tour   $3

Explore the Museum with a knowledgeable docent. (60 minutes)

Guided Tour + Artmaking Lesson      $5

Expand your tour experience by creating art with a certified Museum Art Educator in the YAM education studio. (90 minutes)

school & educational group tours (60 minutes)

Docent led tours are available for student audiences. Students will be introduced to the Museum and several of the current exhibitions. Docents have been trained in all aspects of the collection and special exhibitions, visual thinking strategies, and teaching with original objects in a museum setting.

Tours can be designed to accommodate special curriculum considerations at the request of the teacher. Please inform us with specific requests at the time of scheduling.

Tour Size
Minimum:                   6 students
Maximum:                  100 students

Groups of 20 or more will be divided to ensure manageability
One adult chaperone for every 10 students required

 

Tour Times
Tuesday – Friday         10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

School tours must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
