Canon Parker
YAM Artist-in-Residence
January 26 – May 23, 2026

Canon Parker is a multidisciplinary artist based in Billings, MT. His work examines the liminal architectures of belief, defying certainty through a diverse range of traditional and experimental media:

“My palette of materials is open to opportunity, inclusive to whatever is circumstantially vital and personally provocative—from classic oil painting to bubbles over my grandfather’s deathbed… The work is not separate from me; I am not separate from the world that produces my materials, nor is the viewer separate from the event of the encountered work. Each piece self-consciously embodies this essential entanglement.”

Parker graduated from Montana State University in 2020, earning a BFA in Sculpture & Extended Media with minors in Art History and Physics. Beginning in 2017, Parker worked for artist Daniel Popper installing temporary monumental sculptures in the U.S. and Mexico. In 2020, he formed Canon Parker Art Services LLC, helping facilitate a wide range of art projects in the region. Parker worked as Site Operations Manager for Tinworks Art from 2023 – 2025 and is currently preparing for MFA studies in 2026.
