These are summer classes that are offered on Thursday mornings and afternoons. Each class features a tour of the current exhibitions, followed by a related artmaking activity. We work with a mix of mediums as well as professional art materials, to provide a different creative learning experience every week.

June 14th “Draw Me a Painting”
Build and draw a still life using oil pastels and transform it into a painting. Based off Emil Carlsen’s Quiet Harmonies.
June 21st “Collab-Scape”
Inspired by paintings by Clyde Aspevig and Arshile Gorky “Child’s Companion.” Work with friends and fellow artists to create a collaborative landscape using oil pastels.
June 28th “Break it, Make it”
Repurpose and reassemble broken and found objects.
July 5th “Pieces and Places”
Piece together a landscape collage with recycled materials. Work created is inspired by Nature’s Cadence: Paintings by Clyde Aspevig.
July 12th “Draw Your Better Half”
Start with a selfie and finish with a self-portrait based on a photo taken in the studio, based on Rough and Tumble, Smoke and Rope.
July 19th “Figure It Out”
Build upon Rough and Tumble, Smoke and Rope, children will learn to draw real life people in various poses.
July 26th “Brand Yourself”
Design a logo or brand that represents you. Created from Rough and Tumble, Smoke and Rope.
