An opening reception for the Art Auction exhibition will be held on January 21, 2016. The public is invited to the opening, which will be the first chance to view this year’s Art Auction artwork selections. The exhibition will remain open for viewing and silent auction bidding until the event on March 5th.

We have 177 pieces in this year’s Art Auction.  The theme this year is fire (an unlikely choice since fire is not allowed in the museum).  New this year: flamenco jazz by Johnny Walker and flamenco dancing by Cecilia Scott.

Art Auction 48 will be on view:
January 21, 2016 – March 5, 2016

The exhibition culminates in our annual Art Auction which consists of a silent auction, a live auction, a “Quick Draw,” and cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres, all within the beautiful background created by the museum’s spacious galleries. The auction begins Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 5 p.m. and features a dinner and dessert buffet catered by Thomas Nelson Catering. The Live Auction bidding begins at 7:30 p.m. and will include a raffle drawing for exquisite jewelry donated by Montague’s Jewelers and incredible Persian rug from Kismet Fine Rugs.

Advance tickets to the Art Auction event are $95 per person and $105 at the door. Raffle tickets may be purchased separately and the ticket holder need not be present to win.

Noon tours of Art Auction 48 will take place on Wednesdays February 10 and 24, 2016 from 12 to 1 p.m.  These tours are free to museum members or included with museum admission. No registration required.

  • 5:00 Doors open & Quick Draw begins. Drinks, hors d’oeuvres by Tom Nelson Catering, and Live Music.
  • 7:00 Silent Auction walls begin to close.
  • 7:30 Live Auction begins.
