The Yellowstone Art Museum’s spacious halls and ever-changing art exhibitions provide a beautiful backdrop to make your event memorable. By choosing the Museum for your special occasion, you will also help us continue to provide the outstanding exhibitions and programs Billings has come to expect.

Rental Areas

Visible Vault (new!)
The “Vault” is one-of-a-kind!  One of the few “green” buildings in Billings, the Visible Vault boasts tall ceilings and polished concrete floors, and guests are surrounded by art in our permanent collection vault while they enjoy your event.  This space has quickly gained popularity as a truly “party friendly,” contemporary space with its own parking. It also houses our own Artist-in-Residence studio.  Maximum capacity is 125 for a reception and 60 for a seated dinner. 

Museum first floor
Maximum number of guests is 200, and includes the downstairs areas outside of the galleries and the courtyard.  Rental of gallery spaces is on a case-by-case basis.

Museum second floor
Up a beautiful staircase you will find the second floor of the museum.  This spacious area outside of the second-floor galleries is perfect for an intimate dinner or cocktail reception, and holds up to 120 guests for a reception and 75 guests for a seated dinner.

Entire Museum
Maximum number of guests is 400, depending on availability of gallery spaces.  Includes downstairs spaces outside of the galleries and Raven’s Cafe, the courtyard, and upstairs spaces outside the galleries.  Upstairs galleries available by request and based on exhibition schedule. 

YAM Equipment and Services

The Yellowstone Art Museum offers a diverse range of equipment and resources to accommodate your event. A selection is listed below; please contact us for any special arrangements that you may have.

Equipment or service included:

  • Lectern and microphone
  • Screen
  • Museum chairs and set-up
  • Table set-up and tear-down: large (8-10 guests), medium (6 guests), and small (4 guests) short rounds, tall cocktail-height tables and 6-foot rectangular tables
  • PowerPoint projector set-up
  • Laptop set-up
  • Piano
  • Bar

Outside security services must be booked and managed by YAM Facility Rental Manager.  Outside rental of decor and other items must be coordinated with YAM Facility Rental Manager.

Additional Equipment and Services

Equipment that the YAM does not have may be rented from party supply services. Please work with our Facility Rental Manager who will assist you with determining your needs. You may choose to book these services directly or contract with us to make arrangements for you.

The Yellowstone Art Museum offers monthly parking at both of its locations, 401 North 27th Street and 505 North 26th Street, seven days a week, 365 days a year.  We are conveniently located in downtown Billings.

Our parking fees are $30 per month for members of the museum and $35 per month for non-members. We do not offer daily rates.  Click here to become a member.
