Open Studio

These are summer classes that are offered on Thursday mornings and afternoons. Each class features a tour of the current exhibitions, followed by a related art activity. We work with a mix of mediums as well as professional art materials, to make sure your little artist grows.

Morning Session: 10:00 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Afternoon Session: 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Ages 5 – 12, $6 members, $7 non-members

Summer 2016 Schedule

June 16 – “Sky Designs”

Create bold and vibrant flyable kites inspired by Harold Schlotzhauer: The Shape of Motion.

June 23 – “Wood N Prints”

Linoleum print making on wood boards encouraged by Harold Schlotzhauer: The Shape of Motion.

June 30 – “Art with a Twist”

Design your own spinning top influenced by Harold Schlotzhauer: The Shape of Motion.

July 7 – “Patterns in Nature”

Take close-up photographs of nature inspired by The Falcon’s Eye: Nature Photographs by Michael Sample.

July 14 – “Noise & Color”

Respond to music by creating abstract painting based on our artist-in-residence Neil Jussila.

July 21 – “Deconstruct, Reconstruct”

Create collage landscapes with recycled materials reflecting The Falcon’s Eye: Nature Photographs by Michael Sample & Echo: Unspoken Dialects.

July 28 – “Layer, Stack and Stick”

Build a found object sculpture through layers based on Echo: Unspoken Dialects.

**Registration is required and opens 1 week prior to each class, maximum 30 students, walk-ins are welcome!**
